10 veggies, fruits, or herbs Summer Learning Journey

Planting can be a lot of fun! Have you ever planted a garden? Aronui and I are going to make our very own edible garden this year. We are going to plant a number of veggies, fruits and herbs, including mint, coriander, parsley, lemongrass, onions, tomatoes, beans, zucchinis, kumara and strawberries. Yum! If you could plant an edible garden what would you plant in it? On your blog list 10 veggies, fruits, or herbs that you would plant in your garden.

  1. Hey Evangeline, thank you for sharing a list of ten different fruit and vegetables you would like to grow in your own veggie garden. I would love to have a veggie garden but I am currently living in London where there isn't a lot of sun. It's winter right now and it's literally freezing!

My mum, in New Zealand, has a wonderful vegetable garden. It's quite large. She grows cherry tomatoes, chilis, peppers, parsley, basil and lots of other things.
It can be a lot fun when you are cooking and all you have to do is take ten steps out into the garden and you've got the freshest vegetables in town.I like the fact that you don't have supermarket workers or customers touching and handling your food too. It's a great way to cut back on plastic usage as well.

What sort of food do you think you would make in your kitchen if you had all that growing in your garden?

    Thanks. Billy.

  2. Hi Billy,

Thanks for the comment. With the potatoes I would make Mash potatoes. With veggies I would cook them and put it on the side so my family can pick at it. With my fruits I would make smoothies and fruit salads.

What would you pick and what food would you make out of the foods you choose.

    Kind Regards
    Evangeline
