Helping earth Summer Learning Jouerney

Every year we celebrate World Environment Day in June. On World Environment Day we do what we can to protect our planet. This year the focus is on reducing the use of plastic bags and water bottles. Watch this Environment Day video to learn more about it!
What could you and your family do to protect the planet?
On your blog tell us three things that you could do to help save the planet.

One thing I would do would be to give up plastic bags because plastic bags are one of the worst plastic inventions ever made and that is because when people use plastic bags they drop it on the ground and they don't know that throwing plastic bags on the ground could lead to an animals death.

The next thing I would do would be to give up plastic bottles and plastic straws because it will do a lot of harm to any type of animal the eats it.

The last thing I would do would be to go to different locations and to pick up as much rubbish as we can and if we all do that in different locations our planet will be much cleaner and animals population will increase and not decrease.

  1. Hello again Evangeline, thanks for sharing your thoughts on how we can protect our environment and listing a few of the small changes you can make around your own home. I am glad the awareness is increasing. It's such a shame that there are so many disposable plastic goods. People can be really lazy sometimes! I was reading recently that since one supermarket banned the sale of plastic bags, their plastic baskets have gone missing. People must be taking them home instead!

Supermarkets still need to get rid of all that unnecessary packaging in the fruit and vegetable section too. I am living over in London, England and the amount of plastic at the supermarket is ridiculous. They even wrap fruit that has it's own natural protective layer, such as bananas or mangoes. It's quite ridiculous!

    Thanks, Billy.
