Interview with Suzie Moncrieff Summer Learning Journey

The idea of reusing materials was taken to a whole new level by a woman named Dame Suzie Moncrieff who, thirty years ago, created an event in New Zealand called the ‘World of Wearable Art’ (WOW). WOW takes place in Wellington (and in other cities) every year. Artists from around the world create outfits made entirely from recycled materials. Let’s imagine that you were invited to this year’s WOW awards and you were able to interview the creator. On your blog, list five interview questions that you would like to ask Dame Suzie Moncrieff.

1. When you make your clothes out of different materials do you ever take the time to make it comfortable when you where it.
2. would you ever make a dress out of rubbish and if you would what do you think it will look like when you Finnish it.
3. If you were able to choose if you make a dress or a skirt what would you choose what is your favorite piece of clothing to make.
4. What type of material do you like using the most
5. what type of material do you use the most.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post please leave a  positive comment on my blog and make sure to include what questions you would ask.

  1. Hi again Evangeline,

Well done on creating a list of questions that you would like to ask Dame Suzie Moncrieff. I'm sure she will be thrilled to answer these questions if she was given the occasion.

My favourite out of the list would have to be the first one where you ask about how she ensures her designs are comfortable enough to wear. This is an important element that all designers need to consider when designing their garment - making it look amazing is only one side of the story. I would love to see the process of Dame Suzie Moncrieff designing/creating her work.

Did you see any pictures of her design yet? I did some Google research just now and I was fascinated by the aesthetics. If you haven't already, you should definitely check them out! Let me know what you think.

    Have an awesome day,

    Susie
