The word ‘bumblebee’ is a compound word. The word ‘bumble’ means to hum, buzz, or drone.

Bumblebees can fly very quickly. They can reach ground speeds of 54 kilometers per hour (km/h).

Bumblebees are very strong! They carry up to 90 percent of their body weight in food with them to avoid starvation.

Bumblebees can do more work and carry more pollen than other bees, including honeybees. In fact, they can do up to  40 - 50 times as much work as a normal honeybee.

The number of bumblebees is declining in New Zealand due to a number of factors, including the extensive use of pesticides.

Summer learning journey Tāne Mahuta tree

I would love to see the Tāne Mahuta one day because it is a very unique tree and it would be an honor to go and see something really beautiful. Another reason why I would love to go see the Tāne Mahuta tree is because of the location its in so basically if I ever get to see it I get a bonus because of the location. Personally I love going to see unique things like see creatures, Unique children and other weird things but going to see the Tāne Mahuta tree is so different and i'm saying that in a good way. The reason I like weird things is because personally I think i'm weird and seeing weird things just make my day. To Mum,

I am going to Japan to snow board on Mt Fuji with my best friend Norah-jade. I will be gone for a while and I will miss you, dad, my sisters and brother.

I have stopped in Tokyo to see all the pretty bright lights of the city. I would love to live in Tokyo its my favourite place I've seen so far.
