My About me for 2019
WALT: write about ourselves on the internet in a cyber-smart way.
Kia ora and welcome to my blog. My name is Evangeline but people call me Eva for short and I go to Point England school. This year I am a year 6, my teacher’s name is Mr Goodwin and I'm in room 7. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother, my older sister comes to this school and she is a year 7, my older brother goes to Sacred Heart College and this is his first year and my twin baby sisters go to kindergarten.I enjoy going to the pools more than I like going to the beach because you can have inside or outdoor pools, I don’t like going to the beach very much because it can only be outdoors and also because you get very sandy once you get out of the water. My favorite sport is tag or netball I like netball because you can get fitter and have fun at the same time. I also have been playing netball for 5 years and we have been undefeated for the first 4 years. I like tag because it's not as rough as rugby or league but it is a similar game. I like to eat foods like butter chicken or curry because sometimes curry can be spicy and I love spicy food. I like butter chicken because it can be sweet, sour and spicy. I don't have much hobbies but I like to jump on my trampoline.
I have lots of friends and there names are Jane, Oalii, Madi, Norah-jade, Mia, Sivaenah and Zoe. My friends are very kind and they are also very funny. If me or my friends get bored we can use anything around us to keep us entertained. I have amazing friends.
Task Description:
For this task we used a template given to us by Mr Goodwin to write about ourselves for the about me section on our blog. We had to think about our different interests, hobbies and information about ourselves in a way that is Cyber-smart.

Its the end of the SUMMER LEARNING JOURNEY!!!
What is one thing that you learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey program this year?
I learnt a lot about animals the thing I learnt was that lots of animals are endangered and people can help save them.
What is one thing that surprised you? The thing that surprised me the most was that I could keep up with my blogging but at the same time I got to play around as well.
What is one thing that concerned or upset you? One thing that upset me was that the summer leaning journey has come to an end and one thing that concerned me was that I might not have finished the summer learning journey.
What is one thing that you (or your family) can do, moving forward, to help protect our natural environment? One thing I can do is I can go around to different locations to pick up rubbish. Another thing I can do is I can give up anything plastic related.
I hope you enjoyed all my blog post this holiday Please leave a positive comment on all my blogs if you haven't already. Make sure to include what your favorite blog post is.
similarities and differences Summer Learning Journey
On your blog, list the three animals that you have chosen and then compare and contrast them. How are they similar? How are they different? At the bottom of you post, tell us which of the three animals you would most like to adopt.
Lion cub African Elephant calf Giraffe
The similarities between the Lion cub and the African Elephant calf is that they are both babies/kids and they are both very very cute. Another similarity is that when they are both babies/kids they are harmless. The differences between the Lion cub and the African Elephant calf is that Lions eat meat like other animals and Elephants eat plants.
The similarities between the Giraffe and the African Elephant calf is that they are both majestic creatures that roam the earth. The differences between them is that the African Elephant can be harmful but only if you give them a reason to be harmful but the Giraffe is not harmful at all.
The similarities between the Giraffe and the Lion cub is that Giraffes and the Lions are the same color The differences between these animals is that the lion is a very harmful creature but the giraffes are a very harmless creature. Some more differences is that the lion it much more smaller then the giraffe.
Helping earth Summer Learning Jouerney
Every year we celebrate World Environment Day in June. On World Environment Day we do what we can to protect our planet. This year the focus is on reducing the use of plastic bags and water bottles. Watch this Environment Day video to learn more about it!
What could you and your family do to protect the planet?
On your blog tell us three things that you could do to help save the planet.
One thing I would do would be to give up plastic bags because plastic bags are one of the worst plastic inventions ever made and that is because when people use plastic bags they drop it on the ground and they don't know that throwing plastic bags on the ground could lead to an animals death.
The next thing I would do would be to give up plastic bottles and plastic straws because it will do a lot of harm to any type of animal the eats it.
The last thing I would do would be to go to different locations and to pick up as much rubbish as we can and if we all do that in different locations our planet will be much cleaner and animals population will increase and not decrease.

Machu Picchu Summer Learning Journey
On your blog, tell us what you think about the government’s decision to restrict the number of tourists able to visit this special site. Is it fair? Be sure to tell us why you feel the way that you do.
In my opinion I think it is fair because as he said, it was damaged by tourist so his decision was made to stop tourist from damaging it even more. Another reason why I respect the governments decision is because he had a purpose to do make that rule and he didn't just do it to stop them from going up their he did it to keep Machu Picchu safe. The next reason why I think its fair is because a big part of why the government didn't want to have the tourist up there was because it can be unsafe for both the tourist and Machu Picchu. The government made that a rule because it was to keep them safe and to stop them from damaging Machu Picchu. I hope you enjoyed my blog post please leave a positive comment on my blog and make sure to include what you think about the governments decision.
No more plastic bags Summer Learning Journey
On your blog, tell us what they think about Countdown’s decision to stop using plastic bags.
I asked my mum what she thinks about countdown's decision to stop giving out plastic bags
her answer was.......
its a good idea to go plastic bag free because there will be no more plastic bags flying around open spaces outside. Another reason is because it cuts down having plastic bags in our landfills. Sea animals will no longer have to worry about getting caught in a stray plastic bag and possibly dying. I thinks that all companies shouldn't give out plastic bags.
I fully respect my Mum's answer and I also agree with her I hope you enjoyed this blog post Please leave a positive comment on my blog and make sure to include what your answer would be.
